CIVIL LAW DIVISION ANNOUNCES CHANGES TO JUDICIAL ASSIGNMENT

By order of the Presiding Judge, in accordance with the authority vested in the Presiding Judge under Rule 10.603 of the California Rules of Court, the Civil law Division will implement the following change in judicial officer assignment.

Effective January 2, 2024, the Honorable Judge Gregory Pulskamp has been assigned to Division J, at the Metropolitan Division – Justice Building, located at 1215 Truxtun Avenue, Bakersfield, CA 93301. A civil caseload is being assigned to Judge Pulskamp in addition to unlimited civil cases with hearings in 2024 currently assigned to Judge Zulfa that are being reassigned to Judge Pulskamp. The assignment and reassignment to Judge Pulskamp are for all purposes. During this transitional period, all counsel and parties in unlimited civil cases should periodically conduct case searches on the Court’s non-criminal case search portal by clicking here, to determine whether their case(s) have been reassigned.

All matters currently calendared before Judge Zulfa shall remain scheduled on the dates and times previously set, until December 29, 2023.

Peremptory challenges under Civil Code of Procedure §170.6 must be filed within fifteen days of the parties’ first appearance before Judge Pulskamp.
